Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system has been available for a while now, but Forrester estimates that as of mid 2011, only 20.9 percent of corporate PCs were running it. I’m not sure what the statistics are for workstations specifically, but I imagine it’s about the same, at least in large organizations where a system migration is an all-or-nothing proposition.

If you haven’t made the move to Windows 7 for your CAD applications, there are compelling performance reasons to do so.
