I’ll admit that my design expectations for park benches, bus stops and public trash cans were pretty low before I saw the products developed by a company called Landscape Forms. The Kalamazoo, Michigan-based company has been producing stylish site furniture and accessories for more than 40 years, but it wasn’t until 2002 that the company took a huge leap forward into 3D by switching to SolidWorks. According to Lee H. Goldberg, author of Green Electronics, solar racing got its start in 1985 when the first Tour del Sol was held over five days between Romanshorn and Geneva, Switzerland. The now defunct event spawned a wide variety of transcontinental and track competitions, which often involve big-budget teams from big engineering departments at big universities.
